To say we were made in the image and likeness of God infers that humans are embodied, we have both an immaterial soul and a physical body that are inextricably connected. It certainly would have been an easier existence if the fall of man had not been written into the narrative and yet we are forced to take our heads out of the clouds and face the music of life. So if the fall is a part of the DNA in all created man how are we to embrace and not justify our flawed nature? I am of the persuasion that we are neither here to beat ourselves up nor to justify our patterns… what I am an advocate for and a believer in is that the greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor. When we become grateful our dialog is changed from chitter-chatter to a continual conversation with God. For each time we are called to the task we must pray that God is accompanying us, it is only when we say I got this that we are sure to miss an important detail… when we travel with God’s guidance our language changes, and our outlook is expanded, when we have the privilege to acknowledge an outing with God… we see life with new eyes, Life is a journey and the best way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing, our time is limited so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. The active part of our walk takes faith, those who God commissions to do His work often question God’s choice… are you sure I can do this? One thing is certain with God when He asks us to step out in faith he will faithfully walk with us each step of the way. It is in those times of acknowledging and witnessing God firsthand that life-altering moments happen. Our language will change and our countenance will reflect peace. In a time where man-made agendas have diluted the significance of life, Jesus reminds his followers, Let the days own troubles be sufficient for the day, Jesus is not saying life is without troubles, faith in Jesus does promise that He will be a source of strength for us in the midst of life’s troubles.
